    Buck & Sons Landscape is hiring for a full time lawn applicator technician. Job includes fertilizing and spraying for weeds on both commercial and residential properties.

    Must have a working knowledge of granular fertilizer and chemical application of various chemicals. Applicants should have a Commercial Applicators License from the Ohio Department of Agriculture or at least 3 years’ experience.

    Must be able to calculate rates and know proper application techniques. Must be able to speak fluently with clients and must be able to work on his or her own. Must have a valid driver’s license.

    Shaker Run Golf Club is a public golf facility located in Lebanon Ohio. The position of Mechanic plays an important role in the growth and sustainability of the club. The Mechanic reports directly to the superintendent but is responsible to work closely with the assistant superintendent.

    The Mechanic is responsible for all golf course equipment including golf cart fleet. Duties also include periodic maintenance of buildings and amenities throughout the Shaker Run grounds. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preventive maintenance practices, repair of failing equipment and maintaining up to date records.

    Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000
    Full Time, Year Round

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    ·       High school diploma or GED. Technical school training a plus.

    ·       Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting.

    ·       Must maintain a clean, well organized and safe work environment.

    ·       Ability to diagnose, communicate needs in a professional manner.

    ·       Must be willing to work extra hours and weekends if needed.

    Specific Responsibilities

    ·       Daily inspection of all equipment (oil check, hour check, etc.)

    ·       Working knowledge of golf course cutting units.

    ·       Diagnosing, estimating costs and completing repairs on hydraulic, electrical, diesel and gasoline engines.

    ·       Ability to fabricate and weld with various types of tools.

    ·       Maintain a preventive maintenance plan with-in budget guidelines.

    ·       Instruct golf maintenance staff of proper cleaning and daily maintenance practices of equipment.

    ·       Oversee proper record keeping for equipment, parts and fuels.

    ·       Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for all grounds keeping duties, as well as supervisory duties and is skilled in seeding, fertilizing, planting, irrigation, and all other phases of ground maintenance to keep an attractive and safe campus. In addition to assisting in the development and implementation of a positive work environment, the supervisor position will set an example of professionalism and leadership representative of the MTD values.

    Shifts: First Shift

    Essential Duties:

    • Familiarity with all aspects of Grounds and Landscape duties from equipment usage, fertilizing, irrigation, hardscape, plantings, manicuring turf and ornamental beds, horticulture, mulching, snow and ice management, mowing and all other aspects that would be required as a Grounds and Landscape Supervisor.
    • Operates and maintains all ground maintenance equipment including, but not limited to: power mowers, weed whips, tractors, edgers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, blowers, utility vehicles, snowplows, snow throwers, reel mowers, aerators, etc. Both, in practice and a teaching or training capacity.
    • Assist in development, implementation, and management of preventative maintenance (PM) program for all grounds responsibilities and grounds equipment
    • Supervise, motivate, train, and evaluate grounds staff (seasonal and FTE) in grounds department procedures.
    • Ability to design and implement landscape layouts, fertilizing programs, and maintenance plans for campus grounds.
    • Ensure tasks are performed in a safe, professional manner in accordance with departmental guidelines and procedures.
    • Performs feeding and watering of trees, shrubs, flowers, as well as weed, insect, and disease control of turf.
    • Keeps parking lots, sidewalks, and drives free of debris, Performs spring and fall clean-ups throughout campus.
    • Proactive planning and scheduling of work duties either on own or with management.
    • The ability to perform Snow and Ice Management procedures and practices including, but not limited to: truck plowing, utv plowing, salting, snow shoveling, snow throwing, route plans, etc.

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, proactive planning and scheduling of work duties either on own or with management
    • Knowledge of general horticultural best practices and ability to direct to seasonal and FTE
    • Strong attendance and reliability, ability to work weekends, overtime, holidays as deemed necessary by management, and working knowledge of outdoor power equipment
    • Ability to obtain Ohio State Pesticide license

    Experience/Educational Requirements:

    • HS Diploma or equivalent
    • Management experience 3-5 yrs.
    • Previous landscaping/irrigation/fertilization/turf experience 3-5 years

    Work Environment:

    • Will be working outside in extreme elements: rain, snow, heat, and cold
    • Emergency and after typical business hours required as needed
    • Some lifting is required. Ability to lift 75 lbs

Seeking motivated individual to assist golf course superintendent in daily operations of golf course, including pesticide/fertilizer calibration/applications, scheduling /management of staff, irrigation operation and repair , course set up and evaluation, budgeting/ inventory reports. This position will be a great opportunity to excel and advance in this profession. Knowledge of the game of golf as applied to agronomics of golf course is a plus. Shawnee CC has plans to re-build 3 greens, convert fairways to bentgrass along with a pond expansion beginning in August of 2017.

    Heatherwoode Golf Club is an upscale public golf facility located in Springboro, Ohio.  Springboro is a vibrant, affluent city located in southwest Ohio. Designed by Dennis Griffths, Heatherwoode has gone through numerous upgrades and improvements since opening in 1991. The golf course recently converted driving range tees from Bentgrass to Bermuda, added short game practice area, ongoing bunker and lake bank renovations.

    The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising a staff of up to 20 golf course maintenance employees. The Assistant Superintendent will work hand in hand with the golf course superintendent to insure the highest conditions possible.

    Candidate must possess a positive attitude, great work ethic, and attention to detail. Associate’s degree or certificate in Turf Grass Management or a related field preferred. Minimum of three years of golf course maintenance experience preferred. Must possess Ohio Pesticide License or have the ability to obtain licensure within six (6) months.

    NCR Country Club is actively looking to fill a 2nd Assistant Superintendent position for our turfgrass team. This position is designed to be hands on. We are looking for an individual that possess a mindset for attention to details, as well as the ambition to excel as a professional. The individual that fills this position will receive valuable work experience(s) and mentoring that will further compliment their agronomic base. Our turfgrass program actively promotes advancement from within, as well as preparing individuals for their future goals of becoming a superintendent. Duties will include: staff scheduling and supervision, course setup, chemical and fertilizer applications, hand watering, monitoring and providing feedback on staff, equipment and course conditions, continual development of staff, operating and maintaining irrigation system. In addition, this position will also have the responsibility of scheduling and maintaining the grounds of the clubhouse, pool and fitness.

    Club History

    NCR Country Club was designed by the late Dick Wilson and opened for play in 1954. The Club has two distinctively different 18-hole courses, the North and the South. The North Course is a prairie-links style with a par of 70 and a total yardage of 6,828. The South Course a par 71 covering 7,048 yards of heavily-wooded and rolling countryside, has long been included in Golfweek “Top 100 Classic Courses”. The South Course has hosted four USGA national championships: 2013 Women’s State Team Championship, 2005 U.S. Senior Open, 1998 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 1986 U.S. Women’s Open, as well as the1969 PGA Championship. In the fall of 2013 the club resurfaced the South Course greens with T1/Alpha bentgrass sod. The club also worked with Hurdzan golf design in 2015 to create a 6 acre short game practice area as well as a full renovation of the South Course bunkers. In the fall of 2017, the club will begin an overseeding program of the South Course rough. The North Course offers a completely different dynamic in agronomics and growing environment.     Dayton Country Club is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to add to it’s full time staff as an irrigation technician. DCC is an 18 hole Donald Ross facility nestled within the rolling hills of Oakwood, Ohio just south of Dayton. The property sits in approximately 90 acres and the club was established in 1897. DCC provides a rich history and tradition for it’s members and includes amenities such as tennis, platform tennis, pool, fitness, fine dining, and other social events.

    The candidate should have an exemplary work ethic and be able to manager his/or her time efficiently. The irrigation system at DCC is a combination Toro hydraulic/Rainbird electric with a Rainbird Cirrus central control. The candidate will be required to make irrigation repairs, additions, and alterations along with daily checks of the system for quality control. This position will also require the individual to perform other general golf course tasks. The candidate will also need to pass a drug screen and complete a background check.

    This is a full time position and includes the following benefits:

    Hourly wage of $11-14 D.O.E. with overtime over 40 hrs per week
